Mr. John Reed “Johnny” “Hattie” Franklin, age 75 of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2022. Johnny was the “Official Mayor of College Hill” and was a proud member of East LaFollette Baptist Church. He was formerly employed with TVA - Bull Run Steam Plant as a Heavy Equipment Operator, a member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #917, and a member of the Norris Lake Mopar Club. Preceded in death by Parents, Hattie Ray Franklin and Hattie Marie Wilhoit Franklin, Son-in-Law, Will Ellison, Brother, Eddie Ray Franklin, Sisters, Bobbye Komisar and Marjorie Rutherford, Sister-in-Law, JoAnn Franklin, and Niece, Cheryl Cowan.
Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Kathy Daugherty Franklin; Daughter, LeAnn Franklin Ellison; Son, John David Franklin and Fiance’, Amanda; Grandson, Trey Ellison; Former Wife and Mother of Children, Teresa Franklin Chapman; Step-Daughter, Miranda Heath and husband, Justin; Precious Dogs, Sadie and Allie. Several Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and special friends.
Funeral Services Monday, April 18, 2022, 2:00 P.M. at East LaFollette Baptist Church with Rev. Zach Lloyd officiating. Interment to follow at Bakers Forge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Monday before services at the Church. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: East LaFollette Baptist Church Youth Fund, 703 East Prospect Street, LaFollette, TN 37766.
