Georgia Mae "Johnny" Maiden

Mrs. Georgia Mae “Johnny” Maiden , A life well lived, and a Mother well loved passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the age of 81.  She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church and loved the Lord from a young age, even being recognized by the Salvation Army for bringing 11 children to Sunday school at the age of 13.  Mrs. Maiden had a true servants heart and was always looking out for others, whether that be serving as a volunteer at East LaFollette Elementary School with the PTA, feeding the hungry, sending a card, serving as a Nurse in the Healthcare field, and bringing comfort and peace to hospice patients as she sat with them in their final days.  She was never afraid to do the tough job.  Mrs. Maiden enjoyed making her famous peanut butter fudge and cinnamon hard candy, especially for everyone to enjoy at Christmas.   Preceded in death by Husband, Billy Frank Maiden in 2019, and Sisters, Elizabeth, Nancy, Betty, and Geraldine.

Survivors: Children, Teresa Marlow and Husband, George; David Maiden and Wife, Tonya; and Sandy Gaylor and Husband, George; Grandchildren, Daniel Marlow and Wife, Erin, Anthony Maiden and Wife, Lindsey, Cody Gaylor and Wife, Ashton, Clay Gaylor and Wife, Bailey, and Shelby Maiden; Great-Grandchildren, Bella Marlow, Noah Gaylor, Barrett Marlow, Channing Gaylor, Teagan Gaylor, and Cayson Gaylor; Sisters, Opal and Vesta; Brother, Bobby.  The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff with UT Hospice, Debbie and Justin with Terry’s Pharmacy, and caregiver, Kim Robbins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the family home at a later date.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: Campbell County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 122, Jacksboro, TN 37757 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or st.jude.org.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Georgia Mae “Johnny” Maiden.
