Ronnie Bolton

Mr. Elbert Ronald Bolton, Jr, age 78, of Stinking Creek passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 peacefully, at his home. Ronnie was a man who lived life as he hunted – with determination, patience, and a love for the outdoors that could not be matched. He has embarked on his final adventure, where we trust that the game is abundant, the trees are tall, and the woods are always open.

Born on March 1, 1946, Ronnie grew up with a passion for the outdoors that could not be contained by any one rifle or fishing rod. He spent countless hours in the woods. Whether it was hunting, fishing by the creek, or simply being in the great outdoors. There is no place he would rather be. No matter how many seasons passed the thrill of being outdoors never wore off.

Ronnie was a member of Rock Creek Church of God. He made sure to give thanks for his many blessings. Ronnie’s commitment to God was evident in the way he lived – through his love for his family, his work ethic, and the way he treated others.

Ronnie is proceeded in death by many loved ones who went on before him: His parents, Elbert & Juanita Bolton, his beloved son, Jamie Bolton, and three siblings who have gone to their eternal rest.

Ronnie leaves behind his loving wife, Bonnie Bolton. Ronnie and Bonnie shared 57 years of marriage. He often told those closest to him that he could not live life without her. His love for Bonnie was the foundation for everything he did. She was his heart, the one he cherished above all else, and the one who truly made his life complete. His love for Bonnie will forever be a guiding light for their children and grandchildren, as they continue to carry on the legacy of that devotion.

Ronnie is also survived by his daughter, Susie Wilhoit, His grandchildren Ron Bolton (Tasha), James Bolton (Crystal), Tori Leach (Brian), three siblings, twelve great-grandchildren, and a community of close friends, who were all blessed to have him as their father figure and role model. Ronnie’s greatest pride was seeing his family thrive and knowing he played a huge part in shaping them.

His absence will leave a space in our hearts, but we know his spirit will forever be with us – in the quiet mornings before a hunt, the laughter at family gatherings, and in the memory of the man who could build anything and track down even the toughest of deer.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home with Funeral Services to begin at 7:00 PM with Rev. Roland Ayers officiating.
