Patricia A. (Pat) Kirby

Mrs. Patricia A. (Pat) Kirby, age 79 of LaFollette passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025 with her daughter, Cindy Townsend by her side. Daughter of Charles and Anna Mae Cordell, she was born October 7, 1946 in Campbell County, TN. She was a member of Indian Avenue Baptist Church. She worked as a CNA for several years at LaFollette Medical Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a huge pet lover. She was proud of her grandchildren and loved them unconditionally. She loved Jesus and knew that she would be reunited with the love of her life one day. Although she will be greatly missed, we take great comfort in knowing that she is finally in eternal peace. She is preceded to heaven by the love of her life, David E Kirby, her father and mother, three sisters, Carolyn Overbay, Shirley Turrill, and Janice Starett, and one infant brother, four nephews, two close friends, Mary Monday and Florence Blackwell, and her fur babies.

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Cindy) A. Townsend and husband, Tony, and her Daughter, Michelle Chauncey and husband, Don, three grandchildren, Samantha Townsend, Bryce Townsend, and Hailey Chauncey. Pat was a deeply loved mother, MaMaw, sister and friend. Her passing has left a huge void in many hearts. She never shied away from hard work. She put her compassion into action, helping those who needed it most. Pat’s kindness shone through in everything she did. Her love for animals was clear too- she was a huge pet lover and treated her furry friends like family.

Above all, Patricia was a loving mother and grandmother. She cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her love for them was unconditional, and she took great pride in their accomplishments. Pat's daughter Cindy was by her side until the very end.

Though Pat found joy in many aspects of her life, there was always a part of her heart that longed for her husband, David. He was the love of her life, and after he passed away, she missed him deeply. Pat held onto her faith, finding comfort in the belief that one day they would be reunited. Even though Pat has passed on, her memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. She left behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and love that continues to inspire her family and friends. While she is deeply missed, those who loved her find comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with her beloved David.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Sampson Ridenour officiating. Family and friends will meet on Friday, May 23, 2025, 10:30 AM at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Campbell Memorial Gardens for 11:00 AM Graveside Services and Interment.
