Mrs. Ruth Mae Carrol Bailey , born January 3, 1921, of Speedwell passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017.   She was a member of Well Springs United Methodist Church, Campbell County F.C.E. for 60 plus years.  She worked at Oak Ridge/Manhattan Project, and was working there when the A Bombs were dropped, and she was also a host at the Speedwell Academy for many years. Her happiest time was entertaining on the porch or digging in her flowers and rhubarb.  Preceded in death by Husband, Charlie W. Bailey; Grandson, Brian Gibson; Parents, Sam and Nettie Carrol; Siblings and Spouses, Jessie and Othal Spangler, Thelma and Earnest Hickman, Geneva and B. Neikirk, J.C. and Zelma Carrol, Hubert and Faye Carrol; In-Laws, Bob and Ollie Bailey, Mary and Rich Burke, Millard and Clara Bailey, Walter and Juanita Bailey, Sillus and Cora Bailey, and Amos Bailey.

Survived by Children, Carol and George Jessie, Beckie and Dan Gibson, Steve and Susie Bailey, Richard (Rick) Bailey; Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Kaye and Jessica Gibson, Charles and Michelle and Courtney Jessie; Sister-in-Law, Margret Bailey; and A host of Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews; the Family of Dolly and Dan Kilgore; and Special Friends, Mark and Teri Walker.  The family would like to express a special thank you to all Caregivers, Connie, Christie, Debbie, Fayetta, Carolyn, and Jamie.

Graveside Services and Interment Friday, October 27, 2017, 2 P.M. at Bailey Cemetery with Rev. Keith Hampson officiating.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Well Springs United Methodist Church beginning promptly at 2 P.M. with Rev. Keith Hampson officiating, no visitation is planned.  In lieu of flowers please donate to Well Springs United Methodist Church Womens Group, 168 Well Road, LaFollette, TN  37766 or Bailey Cemetery Fund c/o Sharon Bailey Parks, 385 Scarlett Drive, LaFollette, TN  37766.  Online condolences for Mrs. Bailey may be made at www.waltersfuneralhome.net.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Ruth Mae Carrol Bailey.
