Mildred Humphrey

Mrs. Mildred Mae (Williams) Humphrey passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024. She was a member of Glade Springs Baptist Church. Mildred took the time to enjoy the simple things of life like sitting on the porch, drinking coffee, birdwatching, especially hummingbirds, tending to her flower garden, and dearly loved her animals, Sadie, Tiger, and Tabby. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, and always looked forward to any family gathering. These words describe her best: very active, independent, and strong willed, and was always willing to help anyone in need. She is preceded in death by husband, Vance Humphrey, her parents, Hubert and Rosa (Farmer) Williams, and brothers, Carl and Fred Williams.

She is survived by sons, Kenneth Humphrey and wife, Caroline, Larry Humprey and wife, Granda, and Mark Humphrey; Grandchildren, Haley Humphrey May (J.R.), Josh Humphrey (Shelby), Kenny Humphrey (Casey), Amy Hayes (John); 12 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Williams Humphrey; brother, Glen Williams; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and very special friends.  

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home Chapel, with funeral services to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Thomas Adkins officiating.  Family and friends will meet on Saturday, July 6, 2024, 9:30 AM at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Glade Springs Cemetery for 10:00 AM graveside services and interment.
