Mr. Matthew Franklin Poe, age 68 of Hixson, TN, formerly of LaFollette, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026. He was born on May 31, 1958 to the late Pete and Joyce Poe, and enjoyed the company of his dogs over the years, especially his beloved Tank. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Henry Garnett Poe.

He is survived by his sister, Laura Stites and husband, Neal; 3 special nieces and their families; many cousins across the country; longtime close friend, Kris Trillo, and a friend who was more like a brother, Jerry. Both of these friends surrounded him with love and care over the years.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will then proceed to Woodlawn Cemetery for a Graveside Service. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Matthew Franklin Poe.
