Mr. Johnnie L. Boling, Jr., age 76, of Jacksboro passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026. He was a former Engineer at Oak Ridge X-10 Plant and employed as an Electrical Engineer with University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Johnnie was an Eagle Scout, a former District Commissioner for the Cumberland District of the Great Smoky Mountain Council, an award recipient of the Order of the Arrow, and a member of Wood Badge where he received the Silver Beaver Award. Johnnie was a UT Alumni where he had played in the band, a cat lover, a former drummer, a master gardener, and an avid lover of Native American Culture. Johnnie had previously been a tutor to underprivileged children. Preceded in death by parents, Johnnie Leon and Mary Jane (Johnson) Boling.

Survivors: Honorary Uncle to the Mahooty Family, and other relatives and friends.

It was Johnnie’s wishes to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Campbell County Animal Shelter, 749 Towe String Road, Jacksboro, TN 37757. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Johnnie L. Boling, Jr.
