January 12, 1952 – February 10, 2026
Mr. Jerry Donald Watkins, known to most as “Boxhead”, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the age of 74. He was an ordained Minister of the Gospel and member of Victory Baptist Church where he also taught Sunday School. Jerry was employed with Dixie Roofing for nearly 35 years. He adored time spent with his family, and enjoyed fishing, watching Gunsmoke, and faithfully studied his Bible. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Mae (Archer) Watkins, daughter-in-law, Dalia Watkins, sisters, Alta Gross, Nancy Brandenburg, Lucille Siler, Lillian Walden, and June Dishon, and brothers, Henry Watkins, and Dewey Watkins, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jan Watkins; his children, Jerry Jason Watkins, April Watkins, Sam Watkins, and Jacob Watkins; 3 granddaughters, Sarah Steakley, Rachel Steakley, and Marissa Coker; sisters, Ann Campbell and husband, Clevis, Bettye Heinrich and husband, Joe, and Edith Gillenwater; very special nieces, Amie Ross and Becky Pierce; numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives, co-workers, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM with Rev. Walter Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Victory Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Jerry Donald Watkins.
