Jerry L. Vaughan

Mr. Jerry L. Vaughan, age 74 of Caryville passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. He retired from the University of Tennessee Information Technology Department after 35 years, and together with his wife, Jan have spent the last 46 years caring for, and enjoying their home on the lake. He was an avid boater with a deep love of Norris Lake and their Community. Jerry enjoyed gardening, woodworking, nature, and spending time with Jan and friends. He loved God and carried a willingness to help others whenever needed. Jerry’s life was full and he was truly an example to all who knew and loved him. He will be forever missed.

He is preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Katherine (Lamb) Vaughan, brother, Tommy Vaughan, infant sister, Sarah Vaughan, and their 7 fur babies.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jan (Gregory) Vaughan; his beloved dog, Izzy; sisters-in-law, Helen Vaughan, and Jill Nold (Tony); nephews, Brian Vaughan (Bunny) and family, and Jeff Vaughn (Dana) and family; nieces, Halley Seeley, Catie Allen (Jack) and family, and Maddie Waits.

Mrs. Vaughan would like to express a special thank you to the many friends and EMS workers that were of help to her in her time of need.

There will be a celebration of Jerry’s life on held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the family home (442 Perry Smith Lane, Caryville, TN 37714). This will be a time of sharing stories and pictures from the many memories that he has left us with.
