Homer Jones

Mr. Homer Jones, age 76 of LaFollette passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Homer attended and was saved at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, and proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a dedicated employee of Cove Lake State Park for 36 years where he enjoyed visiting with campers as a part of his night-time watch. In later years, he enjoyed traveling with his late companion, Charlotte England who passed in 2009. Homer also had a passion for researching family and local history, and always took time to enjoy the simple things in life. He is preceded in death by parents, Hugh W. and Hazel Lee (Carr) Jones, sister, Clydia Stooksbury; nephews, Butch and Bob Stooksbury, and niece, Rebecca Stooksbury.

He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Gail Jones and Michelle Lynn Jones; grandson, Cayden Bradley Jones; and a host of extended family members and friends.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff and nurses of Suncrest Hospice and caretaker Ashley Otero Cordero.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM with Rev. Johnny Vanover officiating. Family and friends will meet on Monday, September 8, 2025, 10:30 AM at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Bakers Forge Cemetery for 11:00 AM Graveside Services and Interment with Military Honors to be conducted by the Jellico Honor Guard.
