Georgie I. Jessie

Mrs. Georgie I. Jessie, age 91 of Ypsilanti, MI, formerly of LaFollette passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025. During her time living in LaFollette, she attended New Life Ministries. Mrs. Jessie was an accomplished seamstress and was formerly employed with Imperial Reading Corp. in LaFollette, and eventually retiring from General Motors during her time in Michigan. She was a fun-loving person with a great personality who enjoyed visiting and laughing with friends, and was always on the search for a new pair of shoes. She is preceded in death by husband, Raymond Jessie, son, Stevie Glenn Bolton, daughter, Kathy Mullis, parents, James and Bertha (Campbell) Ayers, brothers, Virgil, Bill, and L.C. Ayers, and sisters, Lena Wilbur, Azilee Roberts, Mallie Bolton, and Jallie Scott.

She is survived by her son, Greg Bolton (Karen); step-son, Joe Jessie; grandchildren, DeAnna Kinner (Dale), Jason Bolton (Becca), David Mullis (Nancy), Cody Mullis (Ella), Autumn Jessie, and Octavia Jessie; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Owen, P.J., AdreAnna, Jordan, Kara, Vaughn, Raven, and Katie; great-great-granddaughter, Paislee; brother, Leroy (R.L.) Ayers; precious friend, Lee Sowards; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services beginning at 3:00 PM with Bishop Delmus Bruce officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Georgia I. Jessie.
