Elizabeth Anne Kinsler Dubose, age 75 of LaFollette, TN left this life on Sunday, January 22, 2023 after a brief illness. Born on March 16, 1947 in Woodway, Virginia to Clarence and Ella Mae Kinsler, Anne was blessed with a loving family and many friends throughout her journey here on earth. During her 75 years, she was a wonderful and loving daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother who left an indelible impression on all those she met. She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Lincoln Memorial University. Anne taught school for 39 years, first in Georgia and Virginia, and then for over 30 years in LaFollette, TN at East LaFollette Elementary and LaFollette Middle School. She truly loved teaching children striving to both make a difference in their lives and motivating them to do great things in their own life’s journey. Her greatest legacy will be through all the lives she touched as an educator and mentor over these many years. Anne was a loyal friend and had many passions during her life, none more so than her love of travel. Whether with her family or her many friends, Anne was able to see so much of the world and loved to talk about her adventures, such as experiencing the Grand Canyon with Curt, or traveling to Long Island with Todd on one oof his golf tournaments, or cruising to Alaska with Alice. She traveled to 48 of the 50 states, missing out only on Hawaii and Nebraska. Her favorite destinations included Alaska and Sedona, Arizona. She also traveled abroad to places such as Greece, Spain, France, and Italy. Anne’s love of food was legendary amongst her friends and family. She loved to try new things and if there was fresh seafood anywhere near, she would be there. Later in life, Anne found another passion in the sport of golf. Introduced to it in the early 80’s along with both her sons, she became quite a skilled golfer, even making a hole in one at LaFollette Country Club. She loved playing with her sons and many friends at LaFollette Country Club and even became the golf coach at LaFollette Middle School for a time. In her last few years, Anne found her most precious gift and the light of her life in her granddaughter, Avery. Spending time with Avery and imparting her wisdom and love was her greatest joy in life. Anne certainly knew how to have fun and lived life to its fullest. Anne was a devoted member of LaFollette United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her father, Clarence Kinsler and mother, Ella Mae Kinsler and by her husband, Dr. David S. Dubose.
She is survived by two sons. Todd and Ginger Burgan of Powell, TN and Curt and Monica Burgan of LaFollette, TN. She is also survived by her sister, and constant companion, Alice Kilgore and by her beloved granddaughter, Avery Burgan. She is also survived by Larry Burgan, father of her two sons. Anne also leaves behind special friends Teresa Fleenor, Martha Richardson, Diane Bruner, Elaine Scott, Betty Snodderly, Laura Broyles, Sharon Ridenour, and the Gap Girls. Anne touched so many lives and also leaves behind many coworkers, friends, and former students too numerous to mention.
A Celebration of Anne’s Life will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, 7:00 P.M. at LaFollette United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday before services.
