Carolyn Faye Overbay

d. June 30, 2018

Mrs. Carolyn Faye Overbay age 77 of LaFollette passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018.  She was a member of High Knob Missionary Baptist Church for 42 years, and a beloved choir leader for 25 years.  Psalm 100:2 – “Serve the Lord with gladness, come before his presence with singing.”  This verse describes the person of Carolyn Overbay and it was visible to all of her church family and friends.  Whether the need was for food to be prepared and delivered to anyone in need, or whether it was leading the choir in singing praises to the Lord, Carolyn was a willing vessel at any hour of the day.  Truly, Carolyn is a great example of a Woman of God because she “had love for one another.” (John 13:35)  Carolyn was preceded in death by her Parents, Chalk and Anna Mae Cordell.

Survived by her loving Husband of 57 years, Bobby Lee Overbay; Daughters, Diane Strader and Husband, Rodney, of Powell, Kelly Potter and Husband, Dennis, of Jacksboro, Son, Derek Overbay of Wisconsin; Grandchildren, Jacob L. Walden, Madison B. Overbay, J. Nathaniel Walden, Rachel L.
