Mrs. Bonnie Evelyn McGhee, age 86 of LaFollette, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026. She was a Member of Forks Grove Baptist Church, and served as a nurse for Dr.’s Burrell, Sexton, and Hall for many years. She was a passionate doll collector, including Beanie Babies, and an avid collector including art and oriental art. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed time spent on their houseboat fishing. She is preceded in death by parents, Obie and Satre (Robison) Braden, sisters, Ruby Thompson and Francis Loy, brother, Odie Braden, and brother-in-law, Marvin McGhee.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Herbert McGhee; children, Lea Ann Hall and husband, Robert, and Herbert Lynn (Bubby) McGhee and partner, Bryan McPherson, grandchildren, Rebecca Thompson and husband, Brad, and Rachel Hall Sulzberger and husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Paisley Sulzberger, Truett Thompson, Bhodie Sulzberger, Grady Sulzberger, and Callahan Thompson; sisters, Brenda Braden, Wanda Sharp and husband, Pete, and Imogene Graves; sisters-in-law, Cathy Disney and Mary Ellen Smith; brothers-in-law, David Thompson and Odell McGhee. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will then proceed to Powell Valley Cemetery for a Graveside Service with Rev. Ronnie Poston officiating.
