Mrs. Betty June Bug (Bolton) Ayers, age 86 of the Stinking Creek Community, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. She was a member of Rock Creek Church of God and formerly attended Jellico Highway Church of God. Mrs. Ayers was formerly employed with Imperial Reading, served as a beloved lunch lady at Campbell County High School, and was a child caregiver for numerous children that lovingly called her “Mamaw June”. June Bug enjoyed her flowers, especially her Iris, gardening, four wheeling, and cooking and sharing with her friends and the community. She deeply loved her family, especially while caring for her “Dubby Boy”. She is preceded in death by husband of 64 years, Mr. W.F. “Dub” Ayers, parents, Birdie and Phoebe (Baird) Bolton, sisters, Aileen White and husband, Joy, and Kathy Evans and husband, Buddy; Brothers, Bill Bolton and wife, Betty and Paris Bolton, an infant brother, Carnal Bolton, special father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Lizzie Ayers, special sister-in-law, Reecie Ridenour and special cousin, Dorothy Baird.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Asbury and husband, Kyle; son, Bryant Ayers; grandchildren, Stephanie Moncrief and husband, Drew, Zachary Asbury and wife, Danielle, Chris Asbury and Walter Asbury; great-grandchildren, Nora, Jaxon and Cannon; sister-in-law, Lana Bolton; long time special friend, Donna Bruce; special friend and caretaker, Travis Phenix. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. with Bro. Don England and Rev. Lester Bolton officiating. Family and friends will meet on Sunday, January 18, 2026, 1:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Hall Cemetery for 2:00 P.M. Graveside Services and interment.
