“Granny” Jane Adkins, age 78 of LaFollette, crossed over to her Heavenly home on Monday, March 11, 2019, surrounded by her family.  She was a member of Woodlake Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hager and Pearly Lewis, Sister, Corsie Mullins, Brothers, Jim and John C. Lewis, and Son-in-Law, John Zemlick.

 

She is survived by her 5 Children, Asbel Adkins Jr. and wife, Jamie, Wilma Nelson and husband, Danny, Donna Zemlick, Judy Moss and husband, Daniel, Julie Walden and husband, Mike (Bubba); 10 Grandchildren, Hannah Singletary and husband, William, Brandy Nelson, Shanna Adkins, Stephanie Nelson, Christopher Zemlick, Megan Swafford and husband, Justin, Desaray Adkins, Jonathan Bolton, Jacob Moss, and Eli Bruce; 7 Great-Grandchildren, William, Kira, Taylor, Katie, Dillon, Tessa, Gabe, Lorelei, and Michael; 3 Brothers, and many other family and friends.

 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday at Walters Funeral Home. Graveside Services and Interment to follow at Sharp Cemetery with Brother George Asbury officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Jane’s name to Walters Funeral Home in LaFollette to assist with final expenses.  Online condolences for Ms. Adkins may be made at www.waltersfuneralhome.net.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of “Granny” Jane Adkins.

Judy and Julie and all of Jane's family are in my prayers. She was such a sweet and kind person. Tara-Beth and I send our condolences. Sorry I can't be there for the funeral, but I have chemo.

We loved Jane . She was a kind soul . She spent many hours with our mother
(Marie) in friendship and kindness. They discussed the Bible and shared stories. I'm sure she will be greatly missed but is heavens gain. Our prayers and thoughts are with each one. Sue, Pat, Donna
