I am so sorry for your loss. Charles was such a special man and I know will be missed greatly by the community. My parents thought so highly of him and we appreciate the kindness shown when they passed. Charles was kind enough to let us tour the funeral home when Mother passed, being that my great-grandfather built this as their home. It was so fun to see a place our family lived many years ago. Of course we also talked about our relatives and their pasts in Campbell County. I am praying for your family and know that God will hold you tight to him during this time.

Dear family, my heart is with you during this very, very difficult time. Charles was a godly, compassionate man, who cared for those he served and his service was certainly a ministry. He was so very kind to my family when our mother died and went above and beyond, also when our brother died. You all will be in my prayers. Love and prayers.

There are no words to sum up what Charles meant to the people in this community. It was noted in the thousands of reads received upon the posting of his passing. I remember how kind he was to me and his beautiful family reflects the same love and soul beauty. I know he earned his heavenly graduation but it will certainly be a great loss to those of us left here. My prayers are with his adored family to whom he loved so much. Strength to all of you and take comfort in knowing he's in Glory.

We can never express in words how much Charles meant to us. During our most difficult time, the loss of David, he was there to support us and offer words that brought more peace than we can ever say. Lafollette will be lost without his smile, sincere words and calm demeaner. We are praying for your family during this difficult time.

Charles was a rare individual. His ministerial gift of presence was as compassionate as it was complete. I had the opportunity to work alongside him on many occasions, and he went beyond what was required of him every time. More importantly, he was a good friend. He will be missed, but his example will continue to impact those whom he served over the years. Our thoughts and prayers will be with his family, his staff, and the community he loved. Grace and peace...

Debbie, Brent, and John and Family,.

Such a surprise when I learned Charles had left for Heaven so soon after Luke. I know they have had conversation up there and I know that such a faithful servant of our Savior Jesus Christ, as Charles was, has received a crown. How we will miss him! Your and his kindness to Luke and our family is a blessing. Prayers are with each of you as you carry on his legacy. With love and appreciation

I just learned of Charles' passing. My condolences to Debbie and the family.

Charles was one of the finest people and friends I had ever knew, and at times he was even like a second dad to me. Years and YEARS ago when I lived in LaFollette, he and I had our periodic chats about life in general. He was always so insightful, funny and encouraging. He will be missed, but I have no doubt he's in a better place.

I love you, my friend. Godspeed.

Oh, how much we loved this man. Although we were going to a funeral home to pay our respects to some family. We always looked forward to seeing Charley, Debbie & Brent. We had not met John yet. Charley always had to have a talk with us & most of the time, someone had to come & get us. My mother’s Uncle was married to Charles’ Aunt or something. Charley knew the details, I did not. Anyway, I took him a photo. The rest is history. This man was a true Christian, sweet Friend. I will miss him so much. So sorry for the family. Debbie, Brent, & new friend John & entire family.

Charles was a staple in our community and will truly be missed. In 2nd Corinthians (KJV), Apostle Paul writes, “For we walk by faith not by sight. We are confident, I say, rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” The Lord has called a true warrior home. He will be missed but as believers, we will certainly see him again. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family! Chief Bill Roehl and the LaFollette Police Department

We are so sorry about Charles. He was a dear friend and so, so helpful to us during our times of loss. Please know that we are thinking of you.

We tried to get my Dad (Red) either to the visitation or to the funeral, but he just wasn't able to make the trip up the Valley. He sends his condolences, too. (Today is his birthday, by the way -- 89 years!)

We often say we're sorry we've "lost" someone. Charles isn't lost -- we know exactly where he is. We're just separated for a time, and for that we give you our deepest sympathy.
